Train travel is an up-to-date topic as more and more people are choosing a more climate-friendly way to travel. When Mecenat and MTR Express now begin their collaboration, the number of departures where students receive a discount is noticeably more. It is on the attractive route between Stockholm and Gothenburg that students with Mecenatkort receive a 25-30 percent student discount.

Students are a mobile group and student discounts on travel have always been an important part of student life. It makes it easier to get to and from the education and to travel and discover at a lower cost. Students with Mecenatkort have a fixed discount of 25 percent on MTR Express and for temporary promotions, they will be offered a 30 percent student discount.

-Student discounts on travel is one of the cornerstones of the student discounts concept. Previously, we had an assignment from CSN (The Swedish study allowance authority) to deliver a student discount on train journeys. But for a long time it has been stated that it is the “market” that will deliver it. We are happy to do that and the offer together with MTR Express will enable the students to keep more of their money in the account when they go out and travel, says Jonas Levin, CEO of Mecenat AB.

-We at MTR Express are very happy about this collaboration with Mecenat and we hope to reach out too many students who may not have caught our eye yet. At MTR Express, we are passionate about innovation and rethinking, so it feels extra fun to help those who will soon be out and do great things in their working lives with a slightly cheaper train journey during their studies, says Peder Osterkamp, Commercial Manager at MTR Express.
