Mecenat Presents This Year’s Students’ Award – Sweden’s Most Attractive Employers

For the third consecutive year, Mecenat presents the Students’ Award, where Swedish students rank the most attractive employers. The Mecenat Students’ Award highlights the employers that Sweden’s students appreciate the most right now. Mecenat Career conducted the survey, in which over 12,400 students freely selected their favorite employers in Sweden. The responses have resulted in rankings of Sweden’s most attractive employers according to students, based on their field of study.

When we look at the combined responses from all students, regardless of their education, a job within the municipal sector ranks highest, followed by the Police Authority and Volvo. This year, 35 percent of respondents state that “Job security & stability” is an important factor in their choice of employer – something that may explain the municipal sector’s top ranking, as it likely falls within this category.

This year’s Students’ Award presents 18 different rankings based on educational categories. Among economics students, EY, PwC, and Swedbank rank highest. For IT/data students, Google, Spotify, and Volvo top the list, while engineering students rank Volvo, SAAB, and Google as the top three.

Beyond identifying which companies’ students find most attractive, we also gain insights into why they are considered attractive. This year, salary, meaningful work tasks, and job security & stability are ranked as the most important factors.

For more than 25 years, Mecenat has been the go-to choice for an enriched student life. Over these years, relationships, trust, and transparency have been built with the companies where students want to receive student discounts. In recent years, Mecenat has expanded these relationships and created new opportunities for students to enjoy a richer student life.

– Mecenat Career, through its brands Talang, TraineeGuiden, and TraineeDagen, enables employers to shape and communicate their employer brand effectively. Mecenat follows students from high school onwards, providing companies with a unique opportunity to establish brand recognition and relationships early in students’ academic journeys. Additionally, companies gain insight into what future talents expect from their prospective employers. Through Mecenat Career, students have access to a centralized platform for everything they need for a richer student life. They can apply for part-time jobs, trainee programs, thesis projects, and their first full-time jobs after graduation, says Emelie Jonsson, Product Owner at Mecenat Career.

The survey was conducted among Mecenat’s student members enrolled in higher education in February 2025. The main question asked was which employer they would most like to work for after completing their studies and why. The results are presented based on their fields of study. The companies that received the highest number of votes in each category were ranked in a top ten list.
