Mecenat becomes the membership card at Uppsala University

Through a newly signed agreement between the Curators’ Convention (Kuratorskonventet) at Uppsala University and Mecenat, all members of Uppsala’s student nations will have the Mecenat card to show their membership from the beginning of this year.

Together with agreements already signed with all student unions at Uppsala University, this collaboration means that from the spring semester of 2025, the Mecenat card will serve as the membership card for all student union and nation memberships at the university.

“It is, of course, very exciting to be able to sign this agreement. A close collaboration with all student organizations in Uppsala provides us with excellent opportunities to meet their needs and contribute to creating a richer student life,” says Jonas Odéhn, CEO of Mecenat.

“The Curators’ Committee, together with Uppsala’s thirteen student nations, is very much looking forward to initiating and implementing a collaboration with Mecenat. Starting in the spring semester of 2025, our members will receive their nation cards in the Mecenat app,” says Ellen Lakey, Communications Manager at the Curators’ Convention.

With approximately 50,000 students, Uppsala University is one of Sweden’s largest universities and boasts a very active student life. The students are represented by five student unions, and a large part of student life revolves around the 13 student nations, which organize numerous events and social activities.
